ROMEO & JULIETA · Parainema Natural & Gesha Honey

WHAT IS POKER COFFEE AUCTION?

Two exceptional Arabicas
Only 40 kg up for auction

Bid on Romeo y Julieta, a green, unroasted coffee from Finca Jerusalén in Honduras. This exclusive blend of naturally processed Parainema and honey-processed Gesha is unavailable through regular retail channels. It’s a chance for roasteries and home roasters to roast something unusual – for their customers or themselves.

Choose from four lots, each auctioned separately:

  • 3 × 5 kg: smaller quantities for your own roasting or a limited release
  • 1 × 25 kg in an original bag from the farm: create your roastery’s own special edition

Choose a lot and place your bid online. You can keep bidding until the auction closes. The highest bidder on each lot wins the coffee.

The name captures the thrill of the game. No poker skills needed – you’re bidding on real coffee, and your bids determine the price.

FROM JOSÉ’S WORLD TO EBEL

One farm
One farmer

The farmer behind this auction coffee is José Cuellár Fajardo, with whom Ebel Coffee has built a longstanding direct partnership.

His farm, Finca Jerusalén, lies in the Santa Bárbara region of Honduras, at an altitude of 1,350–1,600 metres. Here, coffee grows in the shade of native mountain forest, which José tends with the same care as his coffee plants. He grows a range of varieties, including Gesha and Parainema, exploring how different processing methods can bring out their flavours.

Each harvest brings new possibilities and surprises, but behind every coffee is the same person – with his knowledge, experience and love of unspoilt nature.

POKER COFFEE AUCTION 2026

Good to know

How much coffee is actually up for auction?

40 kg of green coffee across four separate lots: three 5 kg lots and one 25 kg lot. Only 50 kg of Romeo & Julieta was produced in total, the remaining 10 kg is reserved for tastings, presentations and other project needs.

When does the auction start and end?

The auction runs from 9 to 12 November 2026.

Schedule for each lot:

  • LOT 1 (5 kg): 9 November, 8:00 am–8:00 pm
  • LOT 2 (5 kg): 10 November, 8:00 am–8:00 pm
  • LOT 3 (5 kg): 11 November, 8:00 am–8:00 pm
  • LOT 4 (25 kg): 12 November, 8:00 am–8:00 pm

How can I keep track of the auction?

We’ll keep you updated throughout the auction via the email address you register with. We’ll confirm every bid, notify you whenever you’re outbid, and let you know if you win!

Can I have the coffee I win roasted at Ebel Coffee?

Of course! We’d be happy to roast your auction coffee here at Ebel Coffee. Our roaster has a 5 kg capacity, so we can roast a 5 kg lot in a single batch. If you win the 25 kg bag, you can store it at our roastery and have it roasted in 5 kg batches whenever you need it.

Coffee naturally loses some of its weight during roasting. With our roasts, this amounts to around 600 g per 5 kg batch, so 5 kg of green coffee will yield approximately 4.4 kg of roasted coffee.

FOUR LOTS. FOUR OPPORTUNITIES.
